The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, founded in 1893 in Baltimore, is a private research-intensive medical school whose MD students follow the Genes to Society curriculum with pass/fail pre-clerkship grading and the Colleges Advisory Program. Beginning in fall 2024, a $1 billion Bloomberg Philanthropies gift funds free tuition for medical students from families earning under $300,000 and full cost of attendance for those from families earning under $175,000.
