The Score, explained

One number. Three pillars. No mystery.

The Score is a 0–100 composite of your whole file, recalculated every time you log. This is the v1.9 breakdown.

Academic
0%

GPA, science GPA, and your MCAT — an official score if you have one, or a projected range built from your logged practice blocks. Weighted against national applicant percentiles.

Experience
0%

Clinical, volunteer, shadowing, and research hours by AMCAS category, weighed against what accepted applicants actually log — not against a guess.

Application readiness
0%

School list balance across reach, target, and safety, plus letters, personal statement progress, and timeline — the parts of the file most premeds check last.

The Score is a tracking tool, not an admissions prediction. Full math on the methodology page.

Built by premeds, for premeds

This started as a spreadsheet.

The same one every applicant builds — hours in one tab, schools in another, formulas that break the night before a deadline. Somewhere between checking school stats for the fourth time in one night and re-tallying clinical hours by hand, it became obvious that the file should check itself. So MedTrack became the tracker its founder wanted as an applicant: real school data, one honest number, no guessing. That is still the whole product.

FAQ

Real questions, answered honestly.

Yes. DO programs are tracked using published DO admissions statistics, and the DO track uses modified Score weights — documented in-app and on the methodology page.

There's no spreadsheet import. You enter your running totals once — hours by AMCAS category, courses, practice scores — and log from there. Keep the spreadsheet as a backup if it makes you feel better. It made us feel better too.

MedTrack does not sell personal data, does not run ads, and does not use behavioral-profiling analytics. AI features send only what they need to the AI provider, and practice-interview audio is never stored as a recording. Deleting your account permanently deletes your data within 30 days. The full policy is on the privacy page.

No — and we're deliberate about this. The Score tracks the measurable parts of your file against real applicant data. It can't see your essays, letters, or interviews, and it isn't endorsed by any medical school or admissions organization. Use it as a dashboard, not a verdict.

Published national admissions statistics for MD and DO programs, official school websites, and US Department of Education datasets. Each school page in the app marks where a figure came from, and anything a school doesn't disclose is labeled as such — not invented. Details on the methodology page.

Your file already has the answers. MedTrack just does the math.
