Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, a unit of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences in Newark, is the oldest and largest school of allopathic medicine in New Jersey. It offers a traditional four-year MD, an accelerated 3-year primary care MD, and MD/MBA, MD/MPH, MD/PhD, and MD-with-thesis programs; it is slated to merge with Robert Wood Johnson Medical School into a unified Rutgers School of Medicine (anticipated accreditation 2027).
