Northeast Ohio Medical University's College of Medicine, established by the Ohio General Assembly in 1973 as a consortium of the University of Akron, Kent State, and Youngstown State, is a community-based public medical school in Rootstown that develops physicians 'from and for Ohio.' It partners with more than 30 Ohio health systems for clinical training and runs innovative admission pathways (including BS/MD consortium routes and an Accelerated Family Medicine Track).
