The Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University, established in 1973 by the Ohio General Assembly, is a community-based medical school in Dayton that owns no university hospital and instead partners with six major teaching hospitals and two federal institutions (including Wright-Patterson Air Force Base) for clinical training. The school emphasizes teamwork over competition and service to underserved areas of Ohio.
